LAMEZIA TERME – Continua la campagna di rafforzamento del Basketball Lamezia. Dopo gli arrivi eccellenti di Monier e di Gennaro e le conferme dei giovani di belle speranze arriva un’altra pedina importante nello scacchiere di coach Ortenzi. Stiamo parlando dell’Americano Christopher Ross Longoria direttamente da Valdosta State, università dove ha giocato da senior nelle due ultime stagioni. Longoria classe 1992, ha iniziato la sua carriera universitaria a Binghamton, sede dei Bearcats, per poi passare per una stagione ai Bulldogs di Samford. Come già detto ha trascorso le ultime due stagioni Valdosta State ,sede dei Blazers, dove ha collezionato 13.1 pt di media , con un season high di 28 punti contro Mississipi College. Chris è alla prima esperienza fuori dagli Stati Uniti e ha scelto l’Italia, cogliendo al volo l’opportunità datagli dal Lamezia. Guardia molto duttile fa dell’esplosività la sua arma principale. Ottimo tiratore dalla lunga distanza e grande difensore, giocatore che si adatta benissimo a ricoprire lo spot di guardia e di ala piccola.

Prima esperienza in Italia. Cosa ti ha spinto o motivato a venire a giocare in Europa?

L’Italia è un paese incredibile, che ho sempre desiderato visitare. Gioco a basket da 15 anni e volevo continuare a giocare professionalmente in Europa. Il mio amore per il basket mi ha spinto a venire in Europa, e questa esperienza in Italia è semplicemente incredibile.

Il basket è diverso qui, quali sono state le tue prime impressioni?

Mi è piaciuto molto in verità, si adatta meglio al mio modo di giocare. Mi piace correre nelle azioni di attacco e coinvolgere tutti durante la partita. Sono un giocatore molto altruista, e credo che mi adatterò benissimo al basket europeo.

LAMEZIA MADE IN USA: ARRIVE CHRIS LONGORIA FROM VALDOSTA STATE

Is Continuing the strengthening of basketball  Lamezia. After Monier  and Di Gennaro , and confirmations of young hopes , IT comes another important player in the Coach Ortenzi’s   draughtboard.We’re talking  ABOUT the American player Cristopher Ross Longoria. from Valdosta State. University where he played as a senior in the last two Seasons. Longoria starts his  universities Carreer  at Binghamton Universities , home of the Bearcats , then  went for a season in the Bulldogs Stanford.As we mentioned above has spent the last two seasons at Valdosta State, home of the Blazers , where he racked up 13.1 average pt with a season-high 28 points against Mississippi College . For Chris it will be the first experience outside the United States and he had  chosen Italy , catching the opportunity offered by Lamezia basketball. A very ductile guard, explosiveness makes his primary weapon . Excellent shot from long range and great defender , a player who adapts very well to hold the guard spots and small forward .

First experience in Italy. What push o motivate you to come to Europe?

Italy is an amazing place, and I’ve always wanted to visit. I have played basketball for 15 years and I wanted to continue playing the game professionally in Europe. My love for the game of basketball pushed me to come to Europe, and experiencing it in Italy is simply incredible.

Basketball is different here, what are your first feelings about it?

I like it a lot actually, it fits more of the way I play. I like running offensive sets and getting everyone involved during the game. I am a very unselfish player and I believe I will fit well in European basketball.
